Keele University
Keele University was founded in 1949 to promote interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary scholarship and makes a distinctive contribution to higher education by emphasising the strength of a broad educational programme. It is the largest integrated campus university in the UK, occupying a 617 acre estate in rural Staffordshire, between Birmingham and Manchester. The University has academic schools in three faculties: Health, Humanities and Social Sciences and Natural Sciences. Keele’s strength in research was confirmed with the most recent Research Assessment Exercise. RAE 2001 rated many of Keele’s researchers to be of “international excellence” in the top bands of 5* and 5, covering areas as diverse as Law, Applied Mathematics, English, Politics, Science and Technology in Medicine, History, Social Policy, Criminology and American Studies. Keele has top rated departments in all three faculties. One of Keele’s distinctive features is its Dual Honours structure.
