The academic year in Great Britain is traditionally divided in trimester (Terms) of about 10 to 12 weeks. However, meanwhile, some universities have adopted the academic year system of most of the European countries and have introduced the semester concept.
The academic year begins in late September / early October and ends in June / July . Usually, there are no classes during Christmas, Easter and summer. The brochures and websites of the universities can show exactly the classes program and the holidays periods.
