An almost 200 year history, 28,000 students and an excellent reputation in Germany and abroad: the University of Bonn, with its strong academic profile, is one of the large universities in Germany. It is a modern research-oriented university that operates internationally while remaining conscious of its long traditions. Bonn co-operates with numerous other universities and research establishments all over the globe. Living up to its long tradition as a classic university with a full range of courses, Bonn offers about ninety different first degree programmes. With about 90 million euros in third-party funding, Bonn is at the forefront of research at German universities. It is at the same time a university with an international perspective. More than 4,000 students from 130 countries are enrolled in Bonn. Their presence underlines the international character of the university and enriches both academic and social life in Bonn.
