University of Applied Sciences in Freising
Hochschule Weihenstephan
Weihenstephan University of Applied Sciences possesses a unique profile. Its range of study courses, none of which are offered at any other Bavarian university of applied sciences, is geared towards the use, design, and preservation of our natural resources. Since its foundation in 1971, Weihenstephan University has developed outstandingly, steadily increasing its number of students from initially 638 to 3,770 in the winter semester of 2007/08. Among the reasons for this great demand are the consistent orientation of the teaching programs towards the needs of the job market and the establishment of innovative degree courses. A special feature is the affiliated State Research Institute for Horticulture in Weihenstephan, where professors of the university carry out applied research.
