German students can apply for BaFöG(scholarship – law regarding grants for higher education). Students from schools of vocational education and students from state-recognized universities have the right for BaFöG and, in exceptional cases, pupils from general education schools also. The condition is that the trainees do not have sufficient own resources to support the educational and living expenses. Therefore, BaFöG is granted as long as the income and assets of the trainees and the income of the spouse or parents do not exceed the respective allowance. The amount of money depends on the individual situation. The maximum rate is 643 Euros.
