Government Funding

All students and graduates of the regular studies can apply with the Ministry of Education for a study support to reconciliation of socially difficult situations and for the accomplishment of particularly difficult study conditions. That can refer e.g. to the support of living costs, promotion of studies at the close to the border not-Austrian (far) universities and promotion of studying abroad.

Living aid

Students with small incomes can get in Austria a living aid. There are different criteria and presuppositions for claim in each land of the Federal Republic, therefore one should inform locally.

Travel costs subsidy

Scholarship applicants receive a travel costs subsidy. The subsidy is assigned without additional application under inclusion of a Selbstbehaltes together with the scholarship.

Insurance subsidy

Those who receive study subsidy and benefit from a favored self-insurance (27 years old and older) are required to pay monthly Euro 19 (Euro 228/year).
